LONDON (13 February 2016) 鈥 National Geographic Traveller (UK) announced the winners of its Photography Competition 2016, in partnership with CEWE PHOTOBOOK, today at the Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show.

The grand-prize winner is Jeremy Flint, with his image of a leg-rowing fisherman on Inle Lake in Myanmar. Jeremy said, 鈥淪een through a cone-shaped fishing net, I wanted to capture a unique view of the fisherman at work. The image shows the incredible paddling skill and amazing sense of balance the fishermen develop at a very young age. The conical nets are submerged in the water and the fish that are caught are speared through the hole at the top.鈥
Judge and Swhype Media co-founder, Andy Greenhouse, said of the grand-prize winner鈥檚 image, 鈥淛eremy鈥檚 picture has symmetry and focus, and resonates with the viewer because the depth of field and sense of peripheral vision is strikingly similar to the human eye. He 鈥榯ells the story鈥 of a Burmese fisherman in an almost choreographed moment 鈥 pairing the beauty of nature with our direct connection to it.鈥
